Hi Mike,
Here are the most popular, top 3 medications:
1. Zoloft
(Sertraline). In 2006 it was the most prescribed
antidepressant on the US market. It is primarily used
to treat clinical depression in adult patients as well
as obsessive-compulsive disorders in both adults and
children. Here you can find the comparasion of sertraline
prices.
2. Prozac
(Fluoxetine). It is mainly used to treat depression,
OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), and bulimia which
is an eating disorder.
3. Cymbalta
(Duloxetine). It is approved for depression, generalized
anxiety disorder, diabetic nerve pain, and fibromyalgia.
It is not approved for use in patients under age 18.
There is also one medication that must be mentioned
here: Zyban
(Welbutrin) which is used as an antidepressant and
well as to help people stop smoking.

Hi,
From the moment I discovered hypnosis
I do not get medication for depression at all!
I recommend it to everyone. You can loose nothing but
your depression. There are not side effects, no swallowing
pills... Believe me, there is not any reason to stay
on your meds...

Xanax is one of those medicines which help in relieving
anxiety and depression, but this medicine should only
be used for small duration as this is habit forming
drug and sometimes the withdrawal symptoms can be more
depressing. The withdrawal from this medicine is a slow
and gradual process rather than abrupt. Xanax works
by slowing down the nervous system and hence relieves
anxiety. The best way to get over anxiety and depression
is to take a break from your regular schedule, go out,
and take good sleep. This helps in clearing the mind
and try consulting a specialist who can suggest you
as how you can get over your problem.
