Hallo,
Meseems that I am allergic on our parrot. I am sneezing lots. It coincides with time we get the bird. Any advice about what causes pet allergy and how to treat it?

Thanks in advance,
Anna

Well, Anna, pet allergy treatment depends on the pet you have. I would say that you have a feather allergy, not a parrot allergy. What kind of bed you are using? Do you have a feather bed too? I suppose you don't since the problems are started from the date you get a parrot. But, if you are using feather bed as well, and you did not feel bad on the time before the bird come in your home, I will searching for reasons of your sneezing on some other places...

Maybe you need a longer blanket while you sleep laugh

Hey you two!
When you weak up, you can find answers on Anna's questions, here:

1. Firstly, I wanna clarify one huge misconception about hairy pets. An animal hair is not actuator of allergic reacion in people, it is actually animal dander (skin scales). So, the concepet that shorthaired animals cause fewer allergic reactions than longer haired pets is not true. Pet allergy is caused by following allergens:
- dogs: skin and saliva
- cats: skin and saliva
- rabbits: saliva and urine
- guinea pigs: saliva and urine
- rabbits: saliva and urine
- hamsters: urine
- rats: urine
- mice: urine
- horses: skin

2. Conventional pet allergy treatments are similar to those recommended for other types of allergies:
- Nonprescription medications (such as Claritin)
- Prescription medications (Antihistamines such as Fexofenadine; Nasal corticosteroids such as Flonase, Inhaled corticosteroids such as Flovent; or combination such as Advair Diskus)
- Immunotherapy (you'll receive injections of pet dander extract)
- Native remedies (my recommendation)

Also there are products that could prevent pet allergy, such as: Anti-allergen dog mousse and Anti-allergen cat mousse

Well, let's be honet. The best treatment allergies is avoidance

I can write here forever, but I think it is enough to answer on your questions.
