Caduet® is used to treat patients who require treatment
for both high blood pressure or chest pain and high cholesterol.
Caduet is not for everyone, it is a prescription drug and
only your doctor can prescribed it to you.
Caduet is an amlodipine atorvastatin combination. It contains
2 medicines, amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker used to
treat high blood pressure or chest pain (angina) and atorvastatin,
an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (also known as a "statin")
used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your
blood. Reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol levels
may help prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
It combines two medicines, Norvasc® (amlodipine besylate
- used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain or blocked
arteries of the heart) and Lipitor® (atorvastatin calcium
- used along with diet and exercise to lower high cholesterol).
